Serena Nicolle is a standout singer-songwriter from the Phoenix area. Though she is known wildly as a coffeehouse-style indie artist, Serena likes to think of herself as indie-pop, a category she feels really represents her. The songstress gets compared to other great women in the industry like Colbie Calliat, Sia, and Taylor Swift, but has a flair all her own.
Serena spends most of her free time recently working on her upcoming Album, out this winter, writing new music and playing gigs all over town. Though she has an outstanding acoustic set, she plays acoustic guitar, piano and ukulele during her performances. Serena also travels often with a talented team of musicians to back her. She hopes to someday soon go on a world tour!
She didn't just stumble into her talent. Serena has a strong background in music. She started piano lessons at 6 years old and wrote her first song at age 12, she was always destined to be a musician. Serena was a huge part of the theater department at her school, being part of the first ever student-written musical, then going on to do two more after that.
Nevertheless, her musical prowess was partially cultivated by Arcadia High School's CMAS program (Contemporary Music and Sound), which is taught by Grammy-nominated music educator, Richard Maxwell. With the program, Serena's had the opportunity to perform at the Hard Rock Cafe, Chase Field, Tempe Marketplace, along with playing in front of the Grammy Foundation.
